How are sessions scheduled?

Once matched, members book sessions directly through our platform based on the availability you've set. You maintain control of your calendar.

Will I need to handle admin work like billing or collecting copays?

No. Marvin handles all administrative tasks, including billing, claims processing, and payment collection. You can stay focused on providing care, not doing paperwork.

How does matching work?

Members are carefully matched to therapists based on clinical fit, preferences, and availability.

Do I control my own schedule?

Yes. You set consistent weekly hours based on what works for you. Members only see availability that aligns with your chosen schedule.

Is this a remote role?

Marvin maintains offices in many metropolitan areas where you can see patients if needed. However, it is not a requirement for the role. You can be located anywhere in the U.S. as long as you're licensed to practice in the states where your clients are located.

Who's eligible to provide services for Marvin?

We’re hiring independently licensed therapists—including licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCs/LMHCs—with several years of post-licensure experience and a strong commitment to supporting healthcare professionals.

What kind of support do Marvin therapists receive?

Your training and support builds on the great skills that you already have. All therapists receive structured onboarding, training modules focused on the realities of clinical work in healthcare, and access to ongoing peer consultation and case support. You’ll also be connected to a clinician-led team that’s available when you need guidance.

Do I have to work nights and weekends?

No. You customize your schedule to fit your needs. You choose the days and times you're available to offer care. While peak demand is often in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends, you decide what works for you.

What support services are available for my clients?

Marvin provides wraparound support, including a 24/7/365 crisis line and access to self-guided resources. You’re not in this alone—and neither are the people you care for.

What types of training do Marvin therapists complete?

All Marvin licensed therapists complete a 5-week training and certification program, ensuring their expertise in supporting healthcare workers. They also complete Marvin Academy, a 10-hour training module, as well as quarterly continuing education trainings.

Does Marvin offer therapy for couples and families?

Yes, we offer individual, couples, and family therapy for adults over the age of 18.

How does payment work?

At Marvin, we believe that therapy should be accessible – which means affordable. When you sign up, you'll enter your benefits information. Before your first session, our team will share your specific coverage options, including copay requirements.

If you would prefer to pay out-of-pocket, you can indicate that during sign up and we will bill you directly. If you do not have insurance or have a high-deductible insurance plan, you can apply for financial assistance through our financial support application.

Who are Marvin therapists?

Marvin therapists are licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited psychiatrists (MD), psychologists (PhD/PsyD), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT), licensed clinical social workers (LCSW/ LMSW), or licensed professional counselors (LPC).

All of our therapists have a Masters Degree or a Doctorate Degree in their field. They have been qualified and certified by their state's professional board. While their experience, expertise, and background varies, they are specialists in their field and are here to provide world-class support and solutions.

What happens after I sign up?

When you sign up, Marvin will match you with a therapist based upon your preferences for their background or demographics, your availability, and your goals for the therapy relationship. In addition, we will share your benefits coverage based on your health plan in advance of your first session, plus an overview of your therapist, their background, and their specialties.

Is Marvin confidential and protected?

Yes, Marvin is 100% confidential and protected. Our service is HIPAA-compliant and end-to-end encrypted. We use the same security technology that banks use, keeping you and your data safe and secure. We will never share your information without your explicit consent.

How does Marvin work?
